The Tamarack or Larch is the only conifer that loses its leaves in the Automn. The title of “conifer” is given to him for the growth of little cones (about 2 cm in diameter) along the branches.
By May the warmth of Spring creates the spur of clumps of six to 16 needles, these of about 3 cm in length, typical of the tree.
Tamarack is easy to identify for its clumps of needles. Its height rarely surpasses 25 m.
