It is not difficult to distinguish the White Pine from other pines.
The needles of the White Pine come in bundles of fives, while all other species come in bundles of two or three needles. Its needles are flexible and pleasantly aromatic and 10 to 14 cm long. The drooping cones may be from 10 cm to 25 cm in length.
The branches are usually breaking from the trunk at the same hight (as opposed to alternating hights).
